Lithuanian Triumph at the World’s Largest Dog Show: Bichons Take Gold
The World Dog Show in Amsterdam attracted more than 33,500 dogs from 74 countries, making it the largest dog show in the world.
Among this record-breaking number of competitors, Lithuania proudly stood out. Tauro Kennel achieved outstanding success with both its Maltese and Bichon Frisé, earning two World Winner and two World Vice Winner titles, while the kennel itself was ranked among the Top 6 Kennels in the World.

More than 200 international judges evaluated thousands of carefully prepared dogs throughout the event.

Tauro Kennel’s Bichon Frisés had already established an impressive reputation before Amsterdam, consistently earning top awards at major international events. This success continued at the World Dog Show, further strengthening the kennel’s international standing.
The kennel itself also received outstanding recognition, finishing 6th among 149 competing kennels from around the world.

But above everything else, I believe in building a genuine relationship with the dog. Every dog must feel loved, respected, and confident. Our World Winner, Tauro Misoko, stood out from a very young age. He always looked into my eyes, watched my reactions, and wanted to work together with me. That connection between dog and handler is something judges can often see.”

The World Dog Show is not only a competition but also a test of endurance. Exhibitors and dogs must maintain their focus throughout long days, often moving quickly between rings located as far as 1.5 kilometers apart.
The Amsterdam event is also renowned for its exceptionally high animal welfare standards. Dedicated welfare teams monitored every participant to ensure each dog had access to fresh food and water, adequate rest, and proper care. One of the strictest rules prohibited leaving dogs unattended in vehicles during warm weather. Any welfare violation resulted in immediate disqualification, reflecting the organizers’ commitment to protecting the health and well-being of every dog participating in the event.
